Instrument panel

Starting to play with panel layouts. I’m pretty open to ideas and suggestions.  I know what instruments were in the plane when delivered from the factory, and may try to go as original as possible.  There’s a little part of me that might want to go a little more modern.  Part of the process is to see what will actually fit with the assorted tubing between the panel and the firewall.  I got a panel with the project and that gave me a starting point to cut out a blank for prototyping layouts.

New revision of the panel layout below.

The Monocoupe Club had a run of throttle quadrants made and I bought one.  Jim White, owner of NC501W, had some label plates made up and you can see that on the left.  I added a separate page for the throttle quadrant and associated hardware.

To the left is a Google Picasa album of instrument panel pictures.

Below is a new revision of the instrument panel, made from some scrap wood I had in stock, with some of my instruments installed.  Thinking now about a much simpler panel based on some original panel prints received from Norman Cowell.
