Todd Goudeau has purchased 1934 90AW NC11762 and brought it home to Lafayette, Louisiana. NC11762 was converted from its original Lambert 90hp motor to the Warner 145 in 1954. This is signifiant because the field approval qualifies as “approved data” and provided the path for the later conversions of N11782 (Iler), N15440 (Craig), N11795 (Galarate), N18056 (Galloway formerly Meuser), and N38904 (EAA Neumann).
Todd reports in with : Just got my Monocoupe home! VERY pleased with the overall condition of it. The steel tubing and wood are perfect. Wings are very nice. Just need to be cleaned up and re varnished in a couple places. Basically ready for cover. I want to convert to hydraulic disc/toe brakes and wide gear, as the old left main folded back in 1992 from a ground looping incident….thus the reason for its hiatus, and impending restoration. The aircraft has been heavily optioned/updated over the years. It has had a landing light installed, left door, Frieze type ailerons, Large tailwheel, Cessna 150 seats (i think), a chain and jackscrew trim system with a tab on the elevator, 2, 6 gallon tanks, added outboard of the original wing tanks, and of course the 125, then 145 Warner added. If anybody has info/knowledge/wisdom on building the gear, and adding the toe brakes….I’m open to any help. Thanks. Once i find out how to post pictures….Ill add them. Todd Goudeau, Lafayette La.
